Gelogus Garden Tata

The nature conservation area is located on the Kálvária Hill in Tata and has been operating as a geological nature conservation area on an area of ​​3.5 hectares since 1953. It was opened in 1976 for the general public interested in natural science, due to its exemplary geological and botanical attractions in Europe. Since 1991, the area has also operated as the Szabadtér Geological Museum. The Szabadtér Geological Museum houses the most common mountain-building rocks in Hungary. The area, which has unique natural and cultural "interests" and sights, came under the management of the Eötvös Loránd University of Science in 1994. The University further developed it between 1995 and 1997 with the support of the Environmental Protection Fund. As a result, the curriculum and the collection of the stone park were expanded.

The nature conservation area is over a hundred million It presents the geological events of the 20th century, their history, as well as botanical, cultural and mining (prehistoric flint) sites.
